Some of the most commonly used jewellery:

Eyebrows
Preferably a curved bar is used in either 14 g or 16g with either balls or cones.

Nose
The most suitable jewellery for a nose piercing is a niobium (most biocompatible) or surgical stainless steel stud of reasonable length to accommodate any swelling on the inside that may occur. 18ct solid gold (no less than 18ct) may be used but some people may react to gold when worn internally. Sterling silver is only ever to be used in healed nose piercings.

Lip or Labret
Either a labret stud (straight barbell with flat disc on one end) or BCR (ball captive ring where ball with dimples clips into ring) is used in either 14g or 16g. Length will depend on where the piercing is going to be but room for swelling is a must.

Tongue
This piercing is always performed with a straight barbell & two 5ml balls of at least 18ml – 22ml in length which allows for swelling.

Nipple
A straight or curved barbell with either balls or cones or BCR ring is most often used and size is determined by accurately measuring the nipple. Male and female nipple piercings are totally different precise measurements are imperative.

Navel
BCR rings or curved bananabells in 14g only are used here but the type of balls & their size may vary according to your taste. Surgical stainless steel & titanium are preferable but solid 18ct gold can be used as long there are no heavy attachments. Rings should be 12ml in diameter depending upon anatomy and banabells should always be a minimum of 12 mm in length so as when they shrink (most navel piercings will with time) you’ll be able to wear 10ml bars which is the most common size for fancy navel bars.
